Together for Wildlife grants

As part of the Together for Wildlife initiative (www.gov.bc.ca/togetherforwildlife), the Province of British Columbia is partnering with the Interior University Research Coalition (www.iurc.ca) on the delivery of a call for proposals to support graduate student-led research projects in British Columbia. This support will be competitive with NSERC-level scholarships and available for currently enrolled graduate students or those starting their research programs in September 2022 or January 2023. 

Competitive proposals will: 

(1) focus on key species and issues affecting BC wildlife stewardship; 

(2) bring together scientists, Indigenous communities, and wildlife stewardship managers as part of the research team; 

(3) support transparency, outreach, and engagement with the research and the results. 

Up to six research grants will be awarded in the academic year of 2022-23 with the intake and adjudication of proposals occurring during the summer of 2022.

• Key priorities of Goal 2 include improving support for scientific research and building stronger partnerships with the academic community.
