This collaboration is designed to address the barriers women traditionally face in accessing early-stage capital, and to create a more accessible and inclusive investment ecosystem for entrepreneurs and investors alike.
Women make up less than 25 per cent of directors on Canadian boards, and only 19.4 per cent of partners at Canadian venture capital firms are women. The result? Since 2014, only 10 per cent of Canadian venture capital investment deals involved shaking hands with a woman. How can Canada’s economy reach its true potential if 51 per cent of the population isn’t fully participating?
