This program aims, among other things, to promote the maintenance and improvement of the condition of rail transport infrastructure, to strengthen rail transport safety and to increase rail transport activities, in particular by integrating a rail segment into the freight transport chains. Ultimately, the program aims to encourage economic development and job creation, particularly in the regions of Quebec, by allowing users to benefit from a more efficient and accessible rail network.

Identify sites to promote modal integration in Quebec; increase the supply of freight and passenger rail transport services; speed up implementation and increase the number of railway projects; develop or improve techniques and technologies to increase the competitiveness of rail transport.
