Stream One of the Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC) component of the Sport Support Program funds eligible organizations to deliver sport for social development projects in Indigenous communities in Canada.
Stream One of the Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC) provides funding (available annually) to the 13 Provincial/Territorial Aboriginal Sport Bodies (PTASBs) and the Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC). It aims to support their capacity and to provide opportunities for Indigenous Peoples to participate in meaningful sport, recreational and physical activities that support 1 or more of the Stream One social development goals. Drawn from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action, the Stream One social development goals focus on:
- improved health, education and employability
- the reduction of at-risk behaviour
Who can apply
To be eligible for Stream One funding, your organization must:
- be a PTASB, as recognized by the ASC
- the ASC is also eligible for Stream One funding to provide leadership and support to the PTASBs for their delivery of the Initiative
Application deadline
The application intake period will take place from August 13, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) to November 17, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. (ET).
