Sport - Professional Coach Employment Program

The Professional Coach Employment Program aims to increase the number of full-time professional coaches working with Sport for Life (S4L) Train to Train (T2T) and Train to Compete (T2C) athletes in New Brunswick. Funding is available to eligible organizations to support the hiring of a full-time professional coach.

• Outcomes: higher numbers of NB T2C athletes achieving success at the national level including selection to junior national teams, top 3 finishes at national championships and Canada Games medals; higher numbers of NB T2T athletes achieving success at the Regional (Eastern Canada) and national level; greater numbers of NB athletes in the T2T and T2C stages of development as demonstrated by increased number of entries in appropriate competitions; increasing alignment of athlete development pathways with the sport’s specific long-term athlete development plans; increased number of positive coach mentoring experiences; improved recognition of coaching as a career choice as evidenced by the number of NB coaches working towards professional positions.
