It's time to apply for the Solange-Chalvin award , which highlights the efforts of people with an immigrant background who have learned French in Quebec as well as the exceptional contribution of people and organizations that help them throughout their learning process. of our common language.

 

The result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI)Ce lien s'ouvrira dans une nouvelle fenêtre and Culture for All, the Solange-Chalvin Prize highlights and recognizes the efforts of adults who are learning or have learned French in Quebec, as well as the exceptional contribution of teaching staff, French language learning partners and volunteers who support or have supported these people in their journey.

The prize has four components :

  • Adult who has followed or is following a French language learning course in Quebec;
  • MIFI teaching staff;
  • MIFI partners in learning French:
    • non-profit organization,
    • educational institution;
  • Volunteer who supports people learning French within a partner organization in francization.

The Solange-Chalvin Prize will be awarded as part of the Quebec Week of Intercultural EncountersCe lien s'ouvrira dans une nouvelle fenêtre , which will take place in November 2025.

The finalists will be presented with videos highlighting their careers and achievements. The winning individuals and organizations will receive an original work by Quebec artist of Guadeloupean descent, Eddy Firmin.

THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IS OPEN UNTIL WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2025 AT 4 PM.

To submit your application:

ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICATIONS

To be considered, an application must meet all the requirements listed in the application form and be accompanied by the required documents. The documents and the duly completed application form, written entirely in French, must be submitted online to the Culture pour tous organization by Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the latest.

The following may not be the subject of an application or propose one, among others:

  • A person declared a winner in a previous edition of the prize;
  • An organization declared a winner in a previous edition of the prize, for the three years following its award;
  • The members of the prize selection jury and their families;
  • Immigration consultants or immigration lawyers;
  • A person employed at MIFI with the exception of teaching staff for the category in question.

The MIFI reserves the right to withdraw any application file deemed inadmissible, before or after the deliberations of the selection jury.

Please note that the eligibility requirements for which an individual, organization or educational institution was selected as a finalist or winner must remain in effect until the awards are presented.
