The objective of this Call for Proposals under the Skills for Success (SFS) program is to fund organizations that will help Canadians at all skill levels improve their foundational and transferable skills to better prepare for, get and keep a job, and adapt and succeed at work.

Projects funded under this Call for Proposals will allow the SFS Program to:

  • respond to current skills and labour market issues, and
  • enable the broad adoption and uptake of the Skills for Success Model

The objective of the Training and Tools Stream is to fund projects that meet 1 or both of the following objectives:

  • Objective A: Design and implement training to support individuals to improve their foundational and transferable skills and be better prepared to meet on-the-job demands
  • Objective B: Develop assessment tools and training resources

Additional requirements to objectives

If your project is focusing on Objective A, you must also meet the following requirements:

  • involve the collaboration of employers or employer organizations. This is to provide targeted skills training to meet current and future requirements within an industry or occupation; and
  • be partnership-driven. This involves collaborative relationships between organizations that contribute to the success of the training model for the targeted audience. For example between sectors, regions or industries, or with community/non-profit groups supporting targeted population groups and educational institutions and othertraining providers

Note: To meet the additional requirements under Objective A properly, you must:

  • indicate details of the partnership under Question 62, and
  • submit letters of partnership as part of the Application package

If your project is focusing on Objective B, you must also meet the following requirements:

The assessment tools and training resources should be made available to Canadians

  • online and/or in an alternate accessible format; and
  • at no cost

If you intend to focus on both Objectives A and B, you must also meet the additional requirements for both objectives.
