The SOAR-AF initiative, expected to continue for the lifetime of the RADARSAT-2 satellite, is an umbrella initiative that will integrate ongoing international activities in Africa (programs, initiatives, etc.), targeting economic development, social, environmental, political and scientific issues.- The goal of the RADARSAT-2 Science and Operational Applications Research - Africa initiative (SOAR-AF), addressed to investigators from an African organization (postal address and e-mail), aims to generate benefits for Africans through the development, implementation and use of RADARSAT-2 data for new applications or for enhancing existing applications.
