A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued for a consultant to assist Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services with programming of a new community mental health and addictions centre on the Northeast Avalon. The new facility will be a specialized treatment centre for patients with persistent mental health illness, who require longer-term treatment than the service to be provided at the new adult mental health and addictions hospital that is anticipated to be completed in late 2024 and open in early 2025.
The new centre will also help patients with a mental illness, developmental disability, or acquired brain injury and patients in mental health distress who do not need to be in hospital but need a safe place where they can resolve their current issues.
