The Government Action Plan for Economic Inclusion and Social Participation 2017-2023 (PDF, 6.77 MB) , launched in December 2017, presents concrete actions to build a more inclusive, united society marked by social justice . Among the measures announced is the continuation of the Alliances for Solidarity. Investments totaling $ 160.1 million will be allocated to FQIS for this purpose for the duration of the action plan.
Alliances for solidarity
The Alliances for Solidarity are agreements under which the signatory organizations are entrusted with the management of an envelope from the FQIS to support mobilization and projects in the regions.
By pursuing the Alliances for Solidarity, the government reiterates its confidence in local and regional actors to target the needs and action priorities of their communities in the fight against poverty and social exclusion.
The new agreements will be signed between the Department and the following bodies:
- the City of Montreal;
- regional anti-poverty tables created or appointed by elected officials from the regions of Quebec;
- the indigenous bodies that have mobilized in the fight against poverty and social exclusion within the framework of the latest Alliances for Solidarity, i.e.
- the Kativik Regional Government,
- the Cree Nation Government,
- the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission.
The entire territory of Quebec will be covered by these agreements.
To support the various actors involved in the preparation and implementation of Alliances for Solidarity, the Guide for the implementation of Alliances for Solidarity (PDF, 604 KB) has been produced.
