To contribute to the Secretariat's work of reflection and orientation, to feed its watch function and to ensure informed exchanges and debates of ideas, it seems essential that knowledge and research on the subject of the secularism of the State be promoted. 

The Secularism Support Program aims in particular to:

  • establish partnerships between the Secretariat, researchers, institutions and organizations interested in various facets of secularism, more particularly that of the Quebec state as well as different models of secularism elsewhere in the world;
  • support research and studies as well as their dissemination and popularization of their results for the general public or the scientific community, both in Quebec and Canada and on the international scene;
  • perpetuate expertise and promote the emergence of researchers interested in the secularism of the State.

The establishment of the Secularism Support Program   aims to promote the acquisition of knowledge about the secularism of the State and to promote the Quebec model defined by the Law on secularism state . This program is aimed at both organizations and researchers and will allow the dissemination and popularization of knowledge on secularism, for the general public and the scientific community.
