The program aims to financially support the follow-up to this analysis, namely the development of drinking water source protection plans . Municipalities will thus be able to take into account the threats they have identified in their vulnerability analysis to define and plan the implementation of the required protection measures.
The Program for the Development of Drinking Water Source Protection Plans (PEPPSEP) is intended for more than 500 municipalities and aims to enable them to define protection measures to minimize or even eliminate threats that may affect the quality or quantity of the waters they exploit. These are threats that the municipalities have already identified during the analysis of the vulnerability of these waters, which is required by the Regulation respecting water withdrawals and their protection.
