Price McIntosh Bursary 2023-2024 Academic Year: Application process now open The application process for the 2023-2024 Academic Year is now open. Applications must be received by Wednesday, September 20, 2023, 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time). Electronic applications must be embedded, and hard copied must be postmarked no later than 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) on the deadline date. Price-McIntosh Bursary The Walter Charles Price and Adis Florence Mary McIntosh Bursary encourages greater enrolment in Canada’s documentary heritage profession by offering a financial aid to support the advancement and inclusion of : visible minorities Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Métis Nation) persons with disabilities

The selection of bursary recipients is a two-step process:

  1. Our bursary coordinators confirm you’ve submitted all required components and meet eligibility criteria.
  2. The selection committee will review your application. The committee will then make recommendations to the Librarian and Archivist of Canada.

The committee chair is our Diversity, Inclusion and Multiculturalism Champion for LAC. We may add external experts to the committee, based on a recommendation from the chair. The Funding decisions are final and not subject to review or appeal.

 

Who can apply

The bursary is open to students residing in Canada who are:

Applicants must:

  • identify as a member of a visible minorityFootnote1, an Indigenous person (First Nations, Inuit or Métis Nation) and/or a person with a disabilityFootnote2
  • be a student at a Canadian postsecondary institution in a program preparing you for a career in library or archives

What types of programs are eligible?

The following list is not exhaustive and is meant as a guide for students wishing to apply. Students may apply and make the case for eligibility of their program, if it is not included in the list but clearly leads to a career in libraries and archives.
