The Pilot and Discovery Fund supports early stage proof-of-concept projects that will lead to the development of new products, services or processes in the strategic sectors. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to meet project timelines, budget and milestones, and display a high level of innovation within project activities. Projects that have a high level of risk but whose success may lead to strong economic development within PEI will be given preference.
- To involve early stage development and testing of a product, service, or process
- To develop a product or service that demonstrates a high level of innovation, commercial viability, and market potential.
- To create a positive economic impact for the Province (jobs, economic spin-offs, etc.).
