The PEI Seniors’ Secretariat achieves progress in its work plan through collaboration and/or funding other organizations to undertake project work. The intent of this funding program is to invite eligible organizations and communities to undertake projects that are designed to improve the lives of older adults in Prince Edward Island.
Organizations and community groups planning to organize activities and/or projects, which align with the priority areas of the Seniors' Secretariat, are invited to submit a proposal for funding.
The Seniors’ Secretariat priority areas for action include:
• Reducing social isolation of seniors;
• Promoting positive images of aging/ addressing ageism;
• Bringing awareness to and/or addressing financial security and safety;
• Supporting seniors to age in place (i.e. home first, in the community, etc.);
• Supporting age-friendly initiatives.
