Operating Assistance for Museums

The Operating Assistance Program is intended to support organizations in accomplishing their mission and implementing their action plans. The assistance is for organizations: whose activities fall within one of the focus areas under the responsibility of the Ministry; whose mission and action plan contribute significantly and sustainably to achieving the Ministry's objectives for the sector and the intervention territory covered; whose good management and efficiency help ensure the quality of services they offer to the public or their peers; who have established partnerships in their sector or on their territory, and which have the support of the community with which they work.

• The component 1 of this program aims to enable museums of regional and national scope: To showcase their collections and themes through exhibitions and publications; To maintain and diversify their annual program of educational and cultural activities in connection with their mission statement destined to the different types of public (families, adults, school groups, seniors, special interest groups (tourists , business, etc.), etc.); To increase the number of partnerships with different organizations and companies (cultural organizations, private and other museum institutions, regional or municipal authorities, etc.).
• The part 2 of the program aims to enable heritage museums : To showcase and interpret the heritage property located in a classified or declared a heritage site; To ensure accessibility of such goods by a public opening; To encourage the production of preventive maintenance plans and emergency measures plans.
