Operating aid program for national cultural leisure organizations (QC)

The operating assistance program for national cultural leisure organizations aims to enable national cultural leisure organizations to offer accessible and diversified services, with the aim of: 

to increase the free and organized practice of cultural leisure in Quebec, by providing financial support to organizations;

to increase and maintain the activities of communities of interest, in particular member networking, information dissemination, representation and promotion of the practice. 

Purpose of the program

The Operating Assistance program for national cultural leisure organizations aims to support organizations:

• whose activities fall within one of the intervention sectors under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Communications;
• whose mission and action plan make a significant and lasting contribution to the attainment of the Department's objectives for the targeted sector and area of ​​intervention;
• whose good management and efficiency make it possible to guarantee the quality of the services they offer to the population or to their peers;
• who have established partnerships in their sector or in their area of ​​intervention, and who benefit from the support of the community with which they work.

More specifically, the program aims to improve accessibility and participation in cultural leisure by reducing the obstacles that risk removing citizens from cultural life, by paying particular attention to young people and to carrying out actions. in line with the 16 principles of sustainable development.

To do this, the Department supports the services offered by national cultural leisure organizations, the importance of which it recognizes, which are leaders in a specific field of activity, which carry out Québec-wide actions and promote in collective charge, to enable them to achieve the following objectives.

The Ministry intervenes in matters of cultural leisure in coherence with its constitutive law (article 10) and the cultural policy of Quebec (June 2018): "An active cultural life is embodied [...] in the voluntary engagement, the patronage , leisure and amateur practice. "

Goals

The objectives of the program are to enable national cultural leisure organizations to offer accessible and diversified services, in order to:

1. to increase the  free and organized practice of cultural leisure in Quebec, by providing financial support to organizations;
2. to increase and maintain the activities of communities of interest, in particular member networking, information dissemination, representation and promotion of the practice.
