The Career Launch initiative will support locally developed programs that help Black children and youth access professional networks and skills development in high opportunity fields.
The economic empowerment stream of the Black Youth Action Plan supports Black youth and young adults to build their careers and achieve economic success. There are three funding initiatives:
- Career Launch
- Career Advance
- Sector Innovation Networks
Initiatives funded by this stream will help support Black Ontarians to overcome barriers and equitably participate in a future-oriented economy, by connecting them with resources such as:
- essential and technical skills development
- high-quality job opportunities
- entrepreneurship supports
- sector-led innovations
NOTE: While actual costs will be determined and negotiated with each successful selected applicant, the maximum amount of funding available for each Career Launch initiative is up to $231,900 per full fiscal year. Funding can be requested for up to two years (2022-23 through 2023-24).
