The Ontario FireSmart Communities Grant helps municipalities: complete hazard forest mapping for wildland fire hazards; develop a Community Wildland Fire Protection Plan with mitigation strategies.
Municipalities are selected based on the: level of fire hazard identified through provincial forest hazard mapping; average number of annual wildfire occurrences; project plan that is submitted through the application process.
