The Appreciation and Rapprochement sub-component supports ongoing activities and innovative projects that foster a better understanding of linguistic duality and create stronger ties between English-speaking and French-speaking Canadians.

The Appreciation and Rapprochement subcomponent supports ongoing activities and innovative projects that foster a better understanding of linguistic duality and create stronger ties between English-speaking and French-speaking Canadians.

Priority is given to those activities and projects that meet all of the following requirements:

  • promote learning and use of the second language;
  • promote the value of linguistic duality;
  • encourage dialogue between members of the 2 official language communities;
  • showcase Canada’s linguistic duality;
  • provide opportunities to test linguistic duality in various forms.

Who can apply

To be eligible for project funding, your organization must be:

  • a Canadian non-profit organization, duly registered;
  • an association or institution;
  • a Canadian foundation; or
  • a Canadian for-profit organization (solely for non-profit activities).

Individuals and government organizations are not eligible.
