Procurement method: Competitive – Open Bidding Selection criteria: Highest Combined Rating of Technical Merit and Price GSIN: N1990 CCG is preparing for construction of a new hybrid electric Near-Shore Fishery Research Vessel (NSFRV) to reduces consumption of diesel. Following the design and engineering work for a vessel class fitted with a battery energy storage system, the CCG has issued a request for proposal to Canadian shipbuilders to start construction of one vessel.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) have a requirement to build and deliver (1) new Near Shore Fishery Research Vessel (NSFRV). The primary function of the NSFRV is oceanographic science. Secondary missions require capabilities consistent with search and rescue and environmental response.
