Novoclimat applies to apartment buildings of over 600 m2 and with up to 10 floors, the main form of energy is electricity, natural gas or residual forest biomass. Financial assistance can be provided to new buildings in construction, or for major renovations. Financial assistance is provided to the promoter of the project once the building has been certified by Novoclimat. The amount of financial assistance varies according to the type of building and number of housing units.
- More efficient housing in terms of energy consumption, allowing them to save on their energy bills.
- Superior comfort as the unpleasant drafts are minimized through better air sealing walls.
- Better air quality because of the mechanical ventilation system for heat recovery which brings fresh air in the bedrooms.
