The Department of Immigration, Population Growth, and Skills is investing up to $500 for any organization, school, or municipality to support Come Home 2022 activities. The total budget for this program is $100,000.

The “Celebrating Home” initiative supports community organizations, municipalities, towns and local service districts, and schools to host diversity and multiculturalism events as a part of Come Home 2022 throughout the year.

This initiative is inspired by the multifaceted ways one can view home, and offers a celebration of these different viewpoints.  The word home can have various meanings and is defined based on one’s context, culture, and background. Acknowledging these differences, through the growing diverse population of the province and celebrating diversity and multicultural with community events, are key factors of welcoming Newfoundland and Labradorians around the world and attracting more immigrants to come “home” to Newfoundland and Labrador.

The objectives of the “Celebrating Home” Initiative are to:

  • Increase the number and broaden the reach of diversity and multicultural celebrations throughout the province;
  • Increase an understanding and awareness of diversity in the province; and,
  • Facilitate opportunities for community organizations, municipalities, town and local service districts to celebrate Come Home 2022.

Non-profit community or non-governmental organizations, schools municipalities, towns, and local service districts are invited to host events and activities that highlight diversity and multiculturalism across the province in a celebration of Come Home 2022 through $500 grants.
