National Housing Strategy (NHS) - Research and Planning Fund
The National Housing Strategy Research and Planning Fund provides support to the following organizations undertaking housing research:
- not-for-profit organizations
- registered charities
- Indigenous governments
- Indigenous organizations
This fund provides financial support in 4 different streams:
- funding support for individual research projects
- funding support for a “program of research”
- funding support for planning activities designed to identify research priorities or lay the groundwork for research
- funding support for knowledge mobilization projects
This year, we will be funding projects focusing on populations that have been under-represented in the previous calls for proposals. We will be funding proposals related to racialized persons or communities, Indigenous people, survivors fleeing situations of family violence, LGBTQ2S, Veterans and those experiencing mental health challenges

- build collaboration, engagement and alignment with stakeholders working to achieve common goals
- support the housing community’s research capacity development
