The Metropolitan Initiative and Outreach Fund (FIRM), administered by the Secretariat for the Metropolitan Region, is one of the main levers available to the Minister responsible for Greater Montréal and the Montréal region to stimulate activity economic, cultural and social of the metropolitan region. Since its creation, this fund has supported more than 2,500 projects representing total investments of $2.5 billion. Many of these projects contribute today to the competitiveness of the metropolis and to its national and international influence.
- To strengthen the city's economic competitiveness by developing and consolidating its strategic sectors, by increasing the cooperation of its stakeholders and by seeking investment and specialized labor; support the improvement of citizens' living conditions and living conditions as well as the fight against poverty and social exclusion in metropolitan France, particularly through integrated urban revitalization approaches; contribute to the attractiveness and influence of the city at the Canadian and international levels by promoting its culture and its strategic sectors, and by carrying out major initiatives and events.
