Description

Given the unique and significant impact of COVID-19 on the Northwest Territories economy and labor market, the Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) has created a streamlined labor market recovery program to support broad sectors of our economy. This time-limited funding is now available to support labor market recovery.

The Labor Market Recovery Wage Grant is intended to support employers impacted by restrictions on gathering sizes imposed by a relevant public health order by providing funding for a Wage Grant to support retention and return of employees. The wage grant will support employers to retain or bring staff back into the workplace in an environment where the employer has lost revenue due to the introduction of gathering restrictions issued or amended by the OCPHO after August 1, 2021.
