Green Municipal Fund. Community Efficiency Financing

This call for applications provides grants for studies to be undertaken by municipalities and municipal partners to: explore the feasibility of financing for home energy upgrades; design new financing programs for home energy upgrades; evaluate existing initiatives.

CEF has two primary objectives: generate triple bottom line benefits—quantifiable energy savings and GHG emissions reductions, as well as other co-benefits such as: environmental benefits, like advancing municipal climate change mitigation, climate adaptation and water conservation outcomes; social benefits, like improving housing quality and durability and occupant comfort, health and quality of life; economic benefits, like reducing utility costs for households, and spurring economic development opportunities (e.g. job creation). Also, support market transformation— enabling municipalities and their partners to reach the point where they are successfully piloting, converging on and scaling up innovative financing models across Canada.
