The Relocation component of the Flood Resilience and Adaptation Program (PRAFI) provides for an investment of $ 75 million to help municipalities carry out relocation and immunization projects for buildings located in areas at high risk of flooding. flooding, with a view to increasing the safety of persons and the protection of property.
This component supports the preparation of relocation plans for sectors vulnerable to flooding, the implementation of relocation and immunization measures for certain categories of buildings, as well as information and awareness-raising activities relating to the problem of flooding. or in the context of the relocation.
These calls for projects will be held for the Resilient Development and Community Resilience and Relocation components of the PRAFI, within the framework of which an envelope of 345 million dollars is reserved to increase the safety of people and the protection of property against flooding in the environments built.
- The Resilient Developments component supports studies to develop and design solutions. It also targets projects that aim to implement developments and infrastructure supporting the sustainable management of rainwater and runoff, the restoration of wetlands and water bodies, as well as the reduction of risks linked to the mobility of courtyards. water, the natural expansion of a lake or a river, or flooding caused by ice.
- The Community Resilience and Relocation component supports eligible organizations in carrying out community resilience plans and awareness and information activities. This component also supports the relocation, immunization or reconstruction of heritage or public buildings, with municipal or community purposes, located in areas at high risk of flooding.
