Fire Protection Grant

This program is available to municipalities that have established a fire department in accordance with Section 2(2)(b)of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 (FPPA). It is designed to support municipal fire departments across Ontario in their efforts to improve cancer prevention and enhance lithium-ion incident response. This program is a three-year funding opportunity, with the second year running from August 13, 2025 to March 31, 2026. The second year of the Fire Protection (FP) Grant will assist fire departments in acquiring critical equipment to enhance firefighter health and safety, minor infrastructure, and equipment and supplies related to lithium-ion incident response at the local level.

Eligibility

The following initiatives are included in the eligible criteria for receipt of this grant:

  1. Cancer Prevention – Equipment and Supplies.
  2. Cancer Prevention – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  3. Cancer Prevention – Minor Infrastructure.
  4. Minor Infrastructure Modernization – Enhanced Broadband and Internet Connectivity.
  5. Lithium-Ion Incident Response – Equipment and Supplies.
