This program offers financial assistance to support part of the investments that large industrial establishments, converted or in the process of converting from the use of petroleum products to the use of natural gas.
The program thus contributes to reducing the consumption of petroleum products and GHG emissions from the industrial sector in Quebec. Its specific objectives are to: help make one or more LNG service solutions from the Côte-Nord and potentially Nord-du-Québec profitable by reducing the costs of setting up projects; reduce the GHG emissions of large establishments located on the Côte-Nord and in Nord-du-Québec; gradually reducing the use of more polluting petroleum products such as heavy and light fuel oil from large establishments located on the North Shore and in Nord-du-Québec; increase the amount of LNG consumed by large establishments located on the Côte-Nord and in Nord-du-Québec.
