Financial Assistance for Festivals and Tourist Events | Stream 4: One-time events

• The Financial Assistance for Festivals and Tourist Events program supports initiatives that encourage the development of a diversified and attractive tourist offer throughout Quebec.
  
   
• Its general objectives are:
• Projects supported under the Festivals and major tourist events component must obtain a classification from a company holding Responsible Event Management certification under the BNQ 9700-253 standard.
   

Part 4: One-time events

Specific objective

Host occasional national or international events that contribute to the visibility of the destination among international tourist customers.

Financial aid

Financial assistance may not exceed 25% of eligible project expenses, up to a maximum of $750,000;

It is one-time and non-recurring;

During the event, produce a study of provenance and traffic carried out by an independent firm and according to a methodology recognized by the Ministère.

Assessment criteria

In order for the submitted projects to be assessed, the following elements will be taken into account:

• Demonstrate an opportunity to generate additional tourism revenue;
• Demonstrate the potential to increase Québec's notoriety and influence on the national or international scene;
• Present a complete financial package and financial viability of the project.

Considerations

• The potential for attracting tourist clientele;
• The origin of the tourist clientele;
• The visibility potential of the event on the national or international scene.

Elements not taken into consideration:

Costs of required infrastructure.

Position the Quebec destination on the national and international scene.

Promote the development of festivals and tourist events in a responsible and sustainable approach, throughout Quebec.
