Expanding Market Opportunities Program

The Expanding Market Opportunities (EMO) program provides funding to forest product associations, provinces and wood product research organizations to increase Canada's presence in national and international wood markets; enhance knowledge of Canadian wood products among wood suppliers and their customers and promote the use of Canadian wood in non-traditional construction such mid-rise and non-residential buildings.

• EMO offers funding for offshore market projects that help promote the use of Canadian wood products in key offshore markets; increase knowledge of Canadian wood products and wood construction systems among construction practitioners and authorities; promote the Canadian forest sector’s environmental performance to address market access and regulatory issues that could limit trade.
• EMO offers funding for domestic market projects that help increase the use of wood in non-residential and mid-rise applications; educate designers, specifiers and architects about ways to incorporate Canadian wood products throughout the planning, designing and building phases.
