Energy Training Program

The Energy Training Program helps postsecondary students and recent graduates get work experience in the energy sector with a hiring incentive for local businesses. Employers receive up to 50% (up to $7.50 an hour). The 2020 funding period is from April 27 to August 21. Employers can hire co-op students, non co-op students and recent graduates. All students and recent graduates must start their work terms by June 1, 2020. For co-op students, please consult the specific university’s requirements.

  • To encourage private sector employers to hire Nova Scotia post-secondary students for career-related work terms in all sectors of the energy industry. Employers gain access to students and recent graduates in a wide range of disciplines from universities and community college campuses in Nova Scotia.
