Energy Innovation Program. Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Demonstrations (EVID)
The Energy Innovation Program has received $46.1 million in funding over 2 years through Budget 2016, to support the demonstration of next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Canada. The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Demonstration Component will undertake new demonstrations to reduce the costs, understand the impacts and address potential hurdles for a broader deployment of next-generation charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

The Energy Innovation Program has received $46.1 million in funding over 2 years through Budget 2016, to support the demonstration of next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Canada. The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Demonstration Component will undertake new demonstrations to reduce the costs, understand the impacts and address potential hurdles for a broader deployment of next-generation charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
- Nearly one quarter of Canada's greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation. Early action to transition transportation to lower-carbon fuels is needed to move Canada towards decarbonizing the sector, while also supporting collaboration with provinces and territories and the development of a Canadian Energy Strategy.
