Emergency assistance to small and medium-sized businesses (COVID-19) | Aid to businesses in regions on maximum alert (AERAM)

In order to support establishments targeted by a closure order, the Assistance to Businesses in Regions on Maximum Alert (AERAM) component allows loan forgiveness (non-refundable financial assistance) under the following conditions:

  • it applies to loans granted under the PAUPME after December 20, 2021;
  • it covers the portion of eligible fixed costs not claimed under another government program and disbursed for the closure period in question, namely:
    • municipal and school taxes,
    • the rent,
    • interest paid on mortgages,
    • costs related to public services (e.g. electricity and gas),
    • the insurance,
    • telecommunications costs,
    • permits and association fees.
