Since 1 st November 2020 Date of entry into force of the law, it replaces the old Green Fund.
The FECC is a special fund entirely dedicated to the fight against climate change. As such, it aims for concrete and efficient measures to reduce GHG emissions, adapt to the impacts of climate change and electrify the economy. All revenues from the carbon market are paid into it. Other sources also contribute to the fund, including contributions from the federal government from the Low Carbon Economy Fund (FEFEC). The FECC is an important tool that allows Quebec to move forward effectively towards achieving its climate objectives, ensuring its energy transition and growing its economy on the basis of sustainable development. The actions that the Government of Quebec is implementing thanks to the FECC will help improve the health, safety and quality of life of citizens and communities.
