The Tourism Accommodation Sector Supplement and the Tourism Non-Accommodation Sector Supplement are programs for businesses that:
- rely on tourism; and
- are negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and operating at a loss.
The Tourism Non-Accommodation Sector Supplement can provide a business that relies on tourism with up to $20,000 per month, for a maximum total of $60,000.
Fixed and variable costs are eligible for coverage through these programs up to the point of financial break even (not suffering a loss but not making a profit).
Under the new stream of the Tourism Non-Accommodation Sector Supplement (TNASS) program, all bars and restaurants throughout the territory are eligible to receive up to $20,000 per month up to $60,000 to breakeven. This funding is available to cover both fixed and variable costs, including payroll. All bars and restaurants are also eligible to receive a one-time sector supplement of $10,000. Eligibility under this new stream will be retroactive to November 8, 2021, when the Government of Yukon declared a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19.
This supplement can provide you with up to $20,000 per month, up to the point of breaking even (not suffering a loss but not making a profit). The most a business can receive is $60,000 for the October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, period.
