(COVID-19) ITBC | Emergency Relief Funds Program
The program will provide emergency support to help pay the fixed costs of Indigenous businesses that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption of the 2020 tourism season. Eligible fixed costs for this program include, but are not limited to, the rent and/or mortgage payable on business premises; hydro, gas and other utilities; wages that are not covered by other programs, personal protective equipment; and, insurance premiums. Costs that are not eligible include the purchase of supplies, or discretionary business spending, such as advertising expenses.

Description
The program will provide emergency support to help pay the fixed costs of Indigenous businesses that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption of the 2020 tourism season. Eligible fixed costs for this program include, but are not limited to, the rent and/or mortgage payable on business premises; hydro, gas and other utilities; wages that are not covered by other programs, personal protective equipment; and, insurance premiums. Costs that are not eligible include the purchase of supplies, or discretionary business spending, such as advertising expenses.This fund is to assist Market-Ready Indigenous tourism businesses in BC who are experiencing business disruption and financial loss due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. It is meant to support market-ready Indigenous tourism business and provide short-term support to bridge business towards a longer-term recovery plan and will be accessing government relief programs.
Applicants will be required to share business and financial information related to the impact of COVID-19 on their business. Indigenous Tourism BC will provide guidance for accessing government relief funds.
