The program will provide emergency support to help pay the fixed costs of Indigenous businesses that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption of the 2020 tourism season. Eligible fixed costs for this program include, but are not limited to, the rent and/or mortgage payable on business premises; hydro, gas and other utilities; wages that are not covered by other programs, personal protective equipment; and, insurance premiums. Costs that are not eligible include the purchase of supplies, or discretionary business spending, such as advertising expenses.

This fund is to assist Market-Ready Indigenous tourism businesses in BC who are experiencing business disruption and financial loss due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. It is meant to support market-ready Indigenous tourism business and provide short-term support to bridge business towards a longer-term recovery plan and will be accessing government relief programs.

Applicants will be required to share business and financial information related to the impact of COVID-19 on their business. Indigenous Tourism BC will provide guidance for accessing government relief funds.
