Founded in 2013, the Coquitlam Foundation Community Fund ("CFCF") draws several previously separate foundation-directed funds--including the the Builders' Trust Fund, the Community Wellness Fund, the Cultural Fund, the Education Fund, the Environment Fund and the Heritage Fund--into one large community fund. This rebalancing gives the Foundation greater flexibility to better respond to a wide range of community funding requests.
- The new CFCF is aimed at promoting the well-being, primarily, of residents living in or near Coquitlam, including for the following charitable purposes: providing care for persons in need and, in particular, for the sick, aged, destitute and helpless; promoting the betterment of underprivileged, disadvantaged or delinquent persons; promoting educational advancement and scientific or medical research for the increase of human knowledge and alleviation of human suffering; promoting recreational activities and the conservation of human heritage or natural resources; providing for such cultural, educational or other charitable purposes as may be desirable; and supporting the operations of the Foundation to meet its objectives.
