Public Safety Canada’s Community Resilience Fund (CRF) provides financial assistance to organizations undertaking programming and research to address radicalization to violence in Canada.

Led by the Canada Centre, the Community Resilience Fund (CRF) is a key tool for supporting partnerships and innovation in countering radicalization to violence in Canada.

The CRF officially launched in December 2016 and provides financial assistance to organizations towards:

  • Enhancing research capacity for policy development, programming and engagement activities;
  • Supporting evidence-based models and practices;
  • Building capacity through expert knowledge, enhancing cooperation and knowledge transfer to key stakeholders; and
  • Empowering local communities.

Priorities for 2021

The Canada Centre has chosen three priorities for the 2021 call for applications to support Canada's approach to countering radicalization to violence (CRV). These priorities build upon perspectives from the National Strategy on Countering Radicalization to Violence (National Strategy), its explanations of processes of radicalization to violence, and the Government of Canada's approach to preventing and countering it through the priorities of Building, Sharing and Using Knowledge; Addressing Radicalization to Violence in the Online Space; and Supporting Interventions. The 2021 call will seek proposals primarily on these priority areas, though initiatives that address other aspects of countering radicalization to violence in Canada will also be considered, as long as they meet the terms and conditions of the CRF.
The three priorities for the 2021 call for applications are:

  • Locating harm, vulnerabilities and needs;
  • Professionalizing the practice; and
  • Expanding capacity for impact.
