Community Investment

Keeping the communities we live in and work with vibrant is vital to TransAlta's future. Each year, we invest in various programs that enhance our communities, specifically those programs focused on one or more of the following areas: education, arts and culture, the environment, and health and human services.

• We invest in areas of the community where we will have an impact over the long-term – typically significant, multi-year commitments that are designed to ensure program or initiative sustainability.
• Our community programs are ongoing, large-scale projects and involve organizations like the Calgary Stampede, the United Way, the TransAlta Tri-Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove, Centralia College, and the University of Calgary's Institute of Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE). Each is an integral part of the community it serves.
• We also support smaller initiatives that fill recognized local needs, benefit the community at large, complement our values, and involve our employees and retirees.
