The Clean Fuels Fund gives our industrial and business sectors the support they need to begin making the shift toward cleaner energy. It also helps keep Nova Scotia at the forefront of exploration of green hydrogen and other clean fuels. The fund helps industry replace traditional fossil fuels with cleaner fuels for heating, transportation and industrial processes. Options include: biofuels clean wood energy from forestry waste products hydrogen renewable natural gas

The Clean Fuels Fund gives our industrial and business sectors the support they need to begin making the shift toward cleaner energy. It also helps keep Nova Scotia at the forefront of exploration of green hydrogen and other clean fuels.
The fund helps industry replace traditional fossil fuels with cleaner fuels for heating, transportation and industrial processes.
Options include:
- biofuels
- clean wood energy from forestry waste products
- hydrogen
- renewable natural gas
Eligible projects
$3 million is available for eligible projects in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
Eligible projects include:
- studies supporting the adoption of clean fuels
- existing facilities and operations ready for implementation of clean fuel use
- new infrastructure to facilitate clean fuel adoption
Projects with a total value up to and including $500,000 (excluding taxes) are eligible for funding up to 75% of the project cost. Projects over $500,000 are eligible for up to 50% of project costs.
Submissions will be accepted until 8 October 2024 at 11:59 pm (midnight).
