Call for proposals to support projects aimed at the reduction, recovery and recycling of organic materials in the ICI sector

This program aims to encourage and support inclusive and innovative projects in the ICI sector to reduce and divert organic matter, otherwise intended for disposal, particularly landfill. 

More specifically the program aims to support projects targeting one or the other of the 2 components:

• Component 1: Reduction of organic matter eliminated: Reduction in the elimination of organic matter from the ICI sector by projects integrating, for example, industrial symbiosis approaches, the optimization of processes to reduce organic surpluses, losses and residues, '' improvement of infrastructure, creation of new outlets for by-products or any other innovative avenues
• Component 2: Recovery and recycling of organic materials: The establishment, improvement or addition of collection services for organic materials intended for recycling. The improvement could in particular include the expansion of a program already in place to other establishments or branches of a company, to other sectors of activity of an establishment or to nearby establishments, load new materials into collection (for example, leftover meals where previously only preparation residues were collected) or unpacking expired food so that it can be recycled rather than landfilled. Depending on the context of the projects, a combination of organic material treatment approaches could be considered.

The objective is to encourage sound waste management projects having a significant impact on the reduction of GHG emissions while integrating the concepts of carbon neutrality and circular economy. To achieve this objective, financial support will be given to projects in this direction.
