In collaboration with Investissement Québec and as part of the Innovation Program – Components 1 and Component 2, the Ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation (Ministry) is launching a call for collaborative and mobilizing projects on the development of technologies relating to passenger transportation. tomorrow. It has an envelope of more than $115 million over five years from various government strategies, including:
- the Québec Strategy for the Development of the Battery Sector;
- the Québec Aerospace Strategy – Horizon 2026;
- the Québec Strategy for Research and Investment in Innovation 2022-2027.
Four components make up this call for projects, which covers all transport sectors, namely land transport, maritime transport and aerospace:
- component 1 – Support for mobilizing projects aimed at the development of innovative products in the electric vehicle industry;
- component 2 – Support for mobilizing projects focused on the development of the battery sector;
- component 3 – Support for mobilizing projects related to the technologies of the aircraft of tomorrow;
- Component 4 – Support for collaborative projects related to promising aerospace business segments.
Goals
- Support Quebec companies, particularly SMEs, in the design, demonstration or display of their products, processes or technological solutions in partnership or in collaboration with other companies and public research centres.
- For components 1 to 3, support the implementation of innovation projects of high technological maturity, i.e. from a starting technological readiness level (TRL) between TRL 4 and TRL 6, up to a maximum level of maturity of NMT 8.
- Improve the growth prospects of companies in the fields of transportation equipment manufacturing (land, maritime and aerospace) through innovative technological solutions, products or processes.
- Support the diversification of the Québec aerospace industry by supporting the development of technologies likely to meet needs in emerging niches as well as in security and defense in the aerospace sector.
- Promote sectoral cross-fertilization between the land transport, maritime transport and aerospace industries in order to more effectively exploit the experience acquired in the development of technologies applicable to one or the other of these sectors.
