As part of the Salmon Fishing and Sport Fishing Development Plan in Quebec 2017-2022, the Department is presenting, for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, the “ Boat cleaning stations” program.
This program participates in the fight against aquatic invasive species (AIS) and pathogenic organisms in aquatic fauna by encouraging the establishment or repair of boat cleaning stations.
Within the framework of the Boat cleaning stations program, in order to fight against aquatic invasive species (AIS).
AIS can have serious consequences in water bodies in Quebec, affecting water quality and promoting the proliferation of algae that threaten fish and aquatic fauna. The installation of boat cleaning stations is an efficient and necessary way to keep aquatic ecosystems healthy. These major projects to install or repair cleaning stations will thus promote the development and conservation of wildlife.
