Aviation Skills Grant

Overview

The Aviation Skills Grant grows and diversifies the province’s aviation and aerospace industry by creating more opportunities for Albertans to access training and strengthen the industry’s workforce. The program supports training and re-skilling to help:

• workers gain new skills to meet the needs of employers
• employers in Alberta’s aviation and aerospace industry gain the skills and talent to grow their businesses and Alberta’s economy

The applicant is required to review the Aviation Skills Grant Applicant Guide for:

• eligibility and selection criteria
• assistance in completing this application form

Funding

Private sector and non-profit employers in the aviation and aerospace industry in Alberta can apply for funding to offset employer training costs for new and unfilled jobs.

The program will fund up to $30,000 per trainee for the duration of the program.

Employers are eligible to receive up to the following per intake:

• $3 million for employers with more than 3,000 employees in Alberta
• $500,000 for employers with between 500 and 3,000 employees in Alberta
• $300,000 for employers with less than 500 employees in Alberta
