Agriculture Labour Sub-Program
The Agriculture Labour Sub-Program will facilitate the development of projects designed to build the capacity of the PEI agricultural workforce.
This new program stream will provide farmers and agricultural organizations with access to funding for a variety of initiatives focused on improving the workforce. These include but are not limited to:
- Recruitment missions;
- Developing on-farm resources for employees with English as a second language;
- Workforce training and professional development opportunities;
- Developing models and strategies for employee childcare and transportation;
- Participating in and attending job fairs and trade shows;
- Other fees, accommodations, and registrations related to recruiting and retaining staff.

The Agriculture Labour Sub-Program will facilitate the development of projects designed to build the capacity of the PEI agricultural workforce.
Eligible Recipients
- Mi’kmaq First Nations and other Indigenous groups;
- Agricultural producers;
- Small to medium-sized agri-businesses;
- Agri-processors;
- Agriculture industry organizations, clubs, and associations; and
- Others may be considered upon request.
What do I need to complete the application form?
Information required for all programs:
- Applicant contact information;
- Business or organization information, including CRA registration number;
- If applicable, Partnership information
- Project start and end date;
- Additional sources of project funding;
- Recipient type (i.e. primary producer, agricultural landowner, processor);
- Type of industry (i.e. Dairy, potato, beef, hog, grains and oilseeds);
- Signature for declaration and consent to personal information; and
- Demographic information (optional).
