Fund Type

Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) works to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression through the inclusion of people of all genders, including women, in Canada’s economic, social and political life.

Context

Protecting rights and improving equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities has progressed. However, stigma and discrimination persist. This drives long-standing and ongoing inequities between 2SLGBTQI+ and non-2SLGBTQI+ people in Canada in many areas.

What is capacity-building?

Activities that build capacity are those that increase an organization's ability to reach its goals. They improve skills, information, collaboration and tools. They also often improve an organization's sustainability

Notes:

  • You can only apply to this call for proposals once
  • You can only apply to one stream
  • If WAGE has funded you in the past, you cannot apply for the same activities. You must do new capacity building activities.

The objective of this call for proposals is to build the capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance equality across Canada.
